Mango is a seasonal nutritious fruit, which are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. There are many great health benefits of eating mango. Below are some of the benefits of eating mango: The antioxidants in mango protect the body against colon, breast, leukaemia and prostate cancer.

·      Keeps cholesterol in check
Mango has high level of vitamin C, pectin and fibres, which help to lower serum cholesterol levels. Fresh mango is a rich source of potassium which is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps to control heart rate and blood pressure.

·      Skin cleanser
Mangoes help you to unblock pores and make the face fresh. Mangoes are good for all skin type. It helps clear clogged pores that cause acne. By cutting a mango into thin pieces and keep them on your face for 10 to 15 minutes and take a bath or wash your face and you will see the results.

  • Weight loss
Mango contains vitamins and nutrients that help the body feel fuller. It fibrous fruit boosts the digestive function of the body by burning the additional calories, helping in weight loss.
 Both the mango and the leaves are healthy. By boiling 5-6 mango leaves in a vessel, let it soak overnight and drink the filtered in the morning helps regulate your insulin levels.

Advice
  • Wash fruits thoroughly before you eat.
  • Mango is a good source of fibre but too much of eating may also cause diarrhoea. 
  • Do not buy fruits early in the season or during the off-season.
  • Fruits looking attractive in appearance from outside and having uniform colour may be artificially ripened.
  • Be aware that mango can be so addictive when tasted, too much of everything can also have side effect, mango is not an exception.
