What is a cuticle? How should you take care of it?

A cuticle is a thin layer of dead and dry skin at the bottom of your nail. You may be wondering on how to care for cuticles by yourself. There are lots of things you can do at home to care for your cuticles. Do not cut your cuticles, instead push them back using the techniques below for a neat manicure. However, if you should cut any skin around your nail, it should be a painful hangnail that occurs along the sides of the nail.

Here are some awesome tips on how to care for cuticles:

Dead and dry cuticles can make the nail look ugly and unhealthy; by using this few techniques can make the nails and the base healthy.

  •  Do not cut your cuticles: Cuticles should never be cut; it plays a vital role protecting the root of the nails and keeps them free from bacteria. Cutting your cuticles can also lead to problems like ridges, white spots, or white lines.   • Soak in warm water: By soaking your nails in warm water for about 10minutes makes the cuticle soft and are able to push back.

  • Getting rid of Hangnails: By getting rid of hangnails is part of caring for your cuticles, having said that, you have to be careful because if you cut too deep, you can get hurt and it can also cause infection. If you mistakenly cut yourself, apply antibacterial ointment immediately.
